Tensai Ganmitsuto - Hokkaido Powdered Beet Sugar

Dispatched from Sydney within 1–2 business days. Tracked with signature on delivery.

Tensai Ganmitsuto is produced using sugar beets cultivated exclusively in Hokkaido, Japan's principal beet-growing region, where cool summers and long daylight hours encourage the gradual development of natural sweetness. Introduced during the Meiji period, sugar beet cultivation transformed Hokkaido into Japan's centre for temperate agriculture, with its cool climate providing ideal growing conditions.

Unlike cane sugar, which is produced from tropical sugar cane, beet sugar is extracted from the root of the sugar beet before being concentrated and crystallised. Tensai Ganmitsuto retains a small proportion of beet molasses during production, giving it a gentler sweetness and subtle depth while maintaining the clean, neutral flavour expected of a versatile everyday sugar.

Its exceptionally fine texture dissolves quickly in both hot and cold liquids, making it particularly suited to beverages where undissolved sugar would otherwise affect texture. The sweetness is clean, gentle and well balanced, allowing delicate ingredients to remain at the forefront rather than being overwhelmed.
