This is a *vintage utility OG-107 fatigue shirt that was issued/worn by a soldier deployed with the United States Army Republic of Vietnam (USARV), a logistical command based in Long Bihn Post, and was operational from 1965-1972/3. Its main function was to resolve centralization, security, and troop billeting issues faced by deployed troops serving in Vietnam.
USARV controlled the activities of all U.S. Army service and logistical units in South Vietnam until 15 May 1972, when its structure was merged with the Military Assistance Command, Vietnam (MACV) to become USARV/MACV Support Command, which then disbanded thereafter, on 28 March 1973 after completion of withdrawal of all US Army combat and support units from Vietnam.
The Olive Green-107 is an iconic utility shirt that lives on today, and was first worn by branches of the United States Armed Forces from 1952 until its discontinuation in 1989. The designation OG-107 came from the U.S Army's colouring code and the Olive Green colour was abbreviated as OG. Made of an 8.5oz Cotton Sateen, these 107s will age and patina well as they wear more, over time.
