The Homeslice Tee draws from one of Sydney's more unlikely local stories.

Referencing Ralph Darling, the early governor whose strict rule made him widely unpopular, the design reimagines the figure through the lens of the Eastern Hill today. Where control and restriction once defined the era, the neighbourhood he governed is now built on openness, independence and a strong sense of its own culture.

The Homeslice Darling graphic plays with that contrast, part historical reference, part neighbourhood humour, anchored in the everyday rituals of takeaway pizza counters, late nights and familiar local institutions.

Part of the Eastern Hill Goods line, it continues our ongoing study of place, memory and the stories layered beneath the streets we move through.

East Sydney, Woolloomooloo, Potts Point, Kings Cross and Elizabeth Bay. Before the suburb lines were drawn, this elevated district was collectively known as Eastern Hill.

Eastern Hill Goods are shaped by that place and its stories. Made for everyday use, each piece is tied to a specific piece of research into the habits, food cultures and local histories that define life on the hill.
