Marukyu Koyamaen Shohaku Matcha - 40g

Marukyu Koyamaen's Shohaku is a blend recommended by the current tea master of the Urasenke School of Tea, as an enjoyable matcha for daily drinking. This high grade ceremonial matcha has a prominent herbaceous and bright, floral scent and flavour. It starts with a nice smooth and creamy consistency and a notable delicate sweetness. As with most Marukyu Koyamaen blends, expect no astringency, and only a mild bitterness towards the end. Shohaku's vegetal notes linger towards the end with a savoury finish akin to wakame and a good amout of umami. This is one of our top picks for everyday use as its bright, refreshing and well-balanced. Just enough richness for a latte and smooth enough for drink as an usacha.
