Founded in Shiga Prefecture, overlooking the western shores of Lake Biwa, Minorien has earned an international reputation for producing incense that places exceptional emphasis on the natural character of aromatic woods. The company traces its origins to a family incense business in Osaka before relocating after the Second World War and establishing its present workshop in Wani, Otsu.

Minorien works with carefully selected natural ingredients, producing incense that highlights the distinctive qualities of sandalwood, aloeswood and other traditional fragrance materials without relying on synthetic perfumes or heavily sweetened compositions.
