Eastern Hill takes its name from one of the earliest colonial references to Darlinghurst, a name long buried by time. The Thylacine — or Tasmanian Tiger — shared a similar fate. Once roaming freely across Australia, the Thylacine survived into the colonial era but was driven to extinction by the 1930s. Both the name “Eastern Hill” and the Thylacine became ghosts of history: remnants of a past overshadowed, yet never entirely erased.
The Icon Tee reclaims these forgotten threads, reviving them as part of Eastern Hill’s narrative. Featuring the Thylacine in British Racing Green, it becomes more than a logo — it’s a symbol of endurance, memory, and the stories worth carrying forward. Just as the Thylacine lingers in cultural imagination, so too does Eastern Hill, etched into the fabric of Sydney’s history and reborn through design.
