Made from natural shell with a softly iridescent surface. Each piece carries its own subtle variation in tone, grain, and translucency, reflecting the structure of the shell rather than surface treatment or moulding.
Thicker than many decorative shell spoons, they were made for everyday use. The weight sits comfortably in the hand, and the smooth, non reactive surface makes them well suited to fine salts, matcha, caviar and other powdered or granular ingredients.
Shell spoons have long been used across East Asia for tableware and small utensils due to their durability, cool touch, and resistance to staining. These qualities make them especially practical for ingredients that are sensitive to metal or that benefit from precise portioning.
No two spoons are identical. Variations in colour, warmth, and pattern are inherent to the material and should be considered part of their character rather than imperfections.
