Rice Rice Baby Tee - White/Royal Blue

Choose a Size

The Rice Rice Baby Tee references the neighbourhood Chinese restaurants that shaped suburban Australia from the 1970s onwards. Places of bright neon lights, plastic tablecloths and reliable favourites like honey king prawn, chow mein, mongolian lamb, sweet and sour pork and fried rice ruled the table, where families gathered at the end of the week.

Printed in royal blue on a white cotton base, the graphic draws from the familiar blue and white rice bowls found across these dining rooms.

An Eastern Hill original, designed as part of our ongoing series observing everyday food culture and the places that bring people together.

Part of the Eastern Hill Goods series. Fits true to size. See size guide for measurements.

Eastern Hill takes its name from the ridge that once connected Darlinghurst, Surry Hills, East Sydney, Woolloomooloo, Potts Point, Kings Cross and Elizabeth Bay. Before modern suburb boundaries, this elevated district was collectively known as Eastern Hill (pre-1820).

Eastern Hill Goods are shaped by that shared place. Made for everyday use, they draw from the habits, movement and pace of life across the area.

Practical, durable and straightforward, they are designed to be carried, worn and used as part of daily living.
