Spicy Sardines

Dispatched from Sydney within 1–2 business days. Tracked with signature on delivery.

Produced by Conservas La Narval in Galicia, Spain, these sardines are prepared according to the region's long-established conservas tradition. Small Atlantic sardines are landed from the waters surrounding the Ría de Arousa, cleaned by hand and carefully packed in sunflower oil infused with chilli and aromatic spices.

The sunflower oil preserves the delicate flavour of the fish while allowing the gentle warmth of the chilli to develop over time. Rather than overwhelming the sardines, the spice adds a subtle heat that complements their natural richness and leaves a clean, lingering finish.

Founded in 1966 in the Ría de Arousa, Conservas La Narval is a family-run Galician producer dedicated to preserving the seafood traditions of Spain's Atlantic northwest. The Rías Gallegas are among Europe's most celebrated fishing grounds, where nutrient-rich waters support an exceptional variety of fish and shellfish that have shaped Galicia's conservas industry for more than a century.

La Narval continues this tradition by sourcing seafood from the surrounding coastline, preparing it by hand and preserving it using recipes developed around the natural flavour of the catch rather than heavy sauces or excessive seasoning. Traditional craftsmanship is combined with modern production standards, allowing the company to maintain the quality and character for which Galician conservas are internationally recognised.

Today, La Narval produces a broad range of fish and shellfish conservas, each reflecting the same philosophy: exceptional seafood, careful preparation and respect for one of Spain's great culinary traditions.
