Midorigi is a fine powdered culinary grade matcha from Marukyu Koyamaen, recognised for its intense jade green colour and concentrated vegetal depth. Positioned within the house’s culinary range, it delivers strength and clarity suited to both beverages and pastry applications.

The flavour presents deep, rich green vegetal notes with a long lasting finish and gentle underlying sweetness. Compared to lighter culinary blends, Midorigi carries more persistence on the palate, allowing its character to remain defined when combined with dairy or sugar.

Its vivid colour performs particularly well in cold dessert applications, especially ice cream and frozen confections, where both flavour and green intensity remain pronounced. It is equally suited to baked goods and patisserie, and performs reliably in matcha drinks where stronger flavour is desired.

Marukyu Koyamaen, founded in 1704 and based in Uji, Kyoto, remains one of Japan’s most established tea houses with long standing ties to ceremonial blending and tea school traditions.
