The Lucky Dragon Tea House Tee reflects a familiar Sydney ritual. Weekend yum cha, crowded tables, the rhythm of tea pouring and baskets arriving without pause.
Created for the Year of the Dragon, the design is a nod to the city's long love affair with Cantonese dining and the culture that has always lived inside it. The dragon motif carries that energy forward, part celebration of the lunar year, part inside reference for everyone who knows that the best Sunday on the Eastern Hill starts with a table of eight and more food than anyone planned for.
Look closer. Drawn by hand over several weeks, the artwork carries the small nods and hidden blessings of the lunar new year — the kind of 发 (huat energy of prosperity and good fortune) you pass on without saying a word.
Part of the Eastern Hill Goods line, it sits within our ongoing study of local habits, shared places and the small traditions that define the neighbourhood.
