Japanese Glass and Vintage Bead Bracelet - 009

Dispatched from Sydney within 1–2 business days. Tracked, signature on delivery, securely handled.

Handmade in Sydney, this one-of-a-kind bracelet is composed from Japanese glass and seed beads alongside antique Japanese and Venetian trade beads. Each piece is arranged intuitively, guided by the artist's eye to create a rhythm of colour, texture, and history.

The makers are avid collectors of rare and unusual beads, gathered over years of travel and incorporated thoughtfully into each composition. Bracelet 009 draws its palette from time spent in Nagasaki, where centuries of cultural exchange have left their mark on the city's architecture, ceramics, food culture, and everyday objects. Deep cobalt, vermilion, jade green, soft pink, ivory, and flashes of gold create a composition that feels both playful and layered, reflecting the city's long history as a meeting point between Japan and the wider world.

At the centre of the bracelet is a rare hand painted Meiji era bead, a remarkable survivor from Japan's early modern period. The composition is further enriched by Venetian trade beads, specialty Japanese glass beads, and a distinctive marbled brown glass bead that introduces additional depth and contrast to the sequence.

Each piece takes hours to make, its structure built bead by bead in an unrepeatable pattern. No two are ever the same. Designed to be worn alone as a subtle statement or layered with other pieces for added texture and character.
