During the late 1960s into the 70s, Tissot had a range of chronograph models, named Seastar or Navigator (or both) featuring a variety of calibres, with the earlier models featuring hand would movements (Lemania cal. 873, Valjoux 7733/4) and later models featuring automatic movements (Lemamnia cal. 134x, cal. 5012). Dial Black Tissot-signed dial in great condition, with original minute, hour and second hands, with 2 Chronograph sub dials. Date - at 3 o’clock position functions as intendedWinder at 3 o’clock position, with Chronograph pushers positioned at 2 and 4 o’clock, that facilitates the starting, stopping and resetting of Chronograph functions. Clean patina-edlume plots that do not illuminate following exposure to strong light.
Movement The movement in this watch is a Lemania cal. 1341, an automatic 3-register, cam lever Chronograph.It is interesting that the minute register for the chronograph is not presented in a sub-dial, but instead as a separate minute hand that sweeps around the dial.The sub-dial in this calibre are an hour recorder at 6 o’clock and running seconds at 9 o’clock. Cal. 1341 is a simplified version of Cal. 1340 (introduced in 1972) and presents 17 Jewels instead of the 22 Jewels consistent with Cal. 1340 releases.
Case Stainless-steel case measuring 38mm (without crown) or 41mm (with crown) x 44mm, showing no evidence of machine polish. Please note light wear that is consistent with Vintage of this age.
