Goryoku, meaning Strong Green, is a versatile matcha selected from first and second harvest tencha grown in Nishio, Aichi Prefecture by heritage producer Aoi Seicha. Positioned as a structured everyday expression within the Higashiyama-en range, it balances strength, clarity and approachability in equal measure.
Its powder releases a sweet aroma reminiscent of milk chocolate and milk candy. Whisked traditionally as usucha, it delivers a vivid green colour, smooth body and a composed profile of gentle sweetness, clean umami and light leafy bitterness akin to tender dark greens. The finish is fresh rather than sharp. The flavour is structured and satisfying with minimal astringency, offering both energy and control in the cup.
In milk lattes, its vivid colour holds beautifully. Milk rounds off any sharpness and brings natural sweetness to the fore, recalling the comforting nostalgia of matcha ice cream. Smooth vegetal notes remain present and clearly defined, resulting in a balanced, refreshing latte that avoids heaviness.
Its strength and clarity make it ideal for daily usucha, while its depth and colour carry confidently into milk preparation. It is equally suited to hot or iced applications, maintaining structure across formats.
An everyday matcha with the strength to drink straight and the body to carry milk, Goryoku is designed for reliable performance and repeat use.
