Hojicha Powder

Dispatches from Sydney within 1–2 business days

Hojicha Powder from Marukyu Koyamaen is produced by roasting carefully selected green tea leaves and grinding them into a fine powder for ease of use. The light brown powder delivers a mild roasted profile distinct from matcha, with less herbaceous character and more warmth.

The flavour is gently smoky and toasty, developing deeper roasted notes when baked. When combined with cream, mild astringency and roasted depth become more noticeable, allowing the flavour to stand out in milk based preparations.

Its balanced roasted character makes it well suited to both hot and cold drinks, particularly when paired with milk or plant based alternatives. The powder also performs reliably in desserts and baking where subtle warmth rather than green intensity is desired.
