The Straits Series is a range of items made from vintage batik. An homage to our heritage and the vibrant history of the straits born chinese. The batik prints are created using layers of wax resistant dyes that are applied to blocks before they are stamped by hand onto the cotton. Each colour translating to a layer of dye work - a time and labour intensive process that few are able to do today.
