Produced in Osaka by Wadaman, a fourth generation sesame specialist, this golden sesame oil is made from carefully selected seeds that are washed, slowly roasted and pressed to bring out their natural aroma and clarity.

The flavour is bright and refined, with a fragrant nuttiness and a clean, rounded finish rather than heavy toastiness. Used as a finishing oil, it lifts simple dishes with depth and warmth.

Ideal for dressings, chilled vegetables, noodles, stir fries, ramen, or brushed onto bread and katsu before serving.

A small bottle that brings depth, aroma and quiet precision to everyday cooking.

Wadaman Co., Ltd. is located in Osaka, Japan and has been a sesame manufacturer for more than 130 years. The fourth generation owner, Etsuji Wade, has been personally roasting the seeds for over 40 years. Known as the best roaster in Japan, his skills produce sesame seeds with a delicate and nuanced flavour like none other.

Their legendary roasting process is intense and a labour of love. The sesame seeds are washed 13 times before they are roasted for a precise amount of time. Roasters stand over the roast, regulating temperatures in one degree increments until the seeds reach their optimum roast. They are then transferred to a conveyor belt for separating. Specially built cameras scan the seeds, picking out the ones that do not pass quality control to be served as roasted seeds.

The end result is a consistent supply of high quality golden roasted sesame seeds that are in a class of their own, with a distinct rich aroma. The oil is bright and light, perfumed by the rounded nuttiness of the roasted seeds.
